Chief Addiction Specialist (m/f)
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO
We are looking for an addiction specialist to join our AKESO team in Prague for a new therapeutic program addressing problematic digital behavior, with a focus on adolescents. This is a role as the program’s professional lead, requiring strong expertise in program design, further development, and team leadership.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Serving as the program’s professional lead and working on the creation and implementation of a new therapeutic program focused on problematic digital behavior in adolescents (excessive use of social media, gaming, or other behaviors),
- Assembling and providing professional leadership to the therapeutic team,
- Providing specialized addiction care to clients with risky addictive behaviors;
- Conducting individual and group therapeutic interventions,
- Participating in the diagnosis and development of individualized treatment plans,
- providing professional counseling to clients and their loved ones,
- collaborating with members of the multidisciplinary team and other relevant stakeholders or institutions (schools, child and family services, providers of psychiatric care, etc.)
- maintaining medical records and preparing professional reports,
- participating in professional consultations, supervision sessions, and educational activities,
- further developing the therapeutic program and, where applicable, other services related to the treatment of problematic digital behavior.
WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU
- a college degree in addiction studies,
- professional certification to practice as an addiction specialist,
- experience in a leadership role is a plus,
- Experience working with clients exhibiting risky addictive behaviors or addictions is a plus,
- familiarity with current trends, methods, and procedures in the field of addiction studies and digital addictions,
- the ability to work independently as well as in a team,
- excellent communication skills, empathy, and a respectful approach toward clients,
- a professional demeanor, reliability, and a sense of responsibility,
- an interest in continuing education and professional development.
